Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry refers to any dental care that improves or alters the physical appearance of a patient’s teeth, gums or bite. Focusing more on dental aesthetics, or how the mouth looks to others, cosmetic dentists often strive to improve a patient’s smile in color, position, shape, size, alignment and overall form. While traditional dentistry focuses on oral hygiene, cosmetic dentistry provides restorative benefits and services, such as dental fillings, teeth whitening, composite bonding and dental veneers. Cosmetic dentists often use advanced technology, such as lasers and intraoral scanners, to improve their patients’ smiles in a comfortable and convenient manner. This specialized category of dentistry is more focused on a patient’s oral appearance and self-confidence than diagnosing or treating oral health issues.
